Our Senior Secondary program supports students in Years 10 to 12 as they prepare for life beyond school. Learning is individualised around each student’s strengths, needs, interests and future goals.

Students continue to access age-appropriate curriculum learning while developing practical skills for greater independence, communication, community participation and employment. Learning takes place through classroom programs, vocational learning and hands-on experiences within the school and wider community.
In Years 11 and 12, students undertake learning guided by the Guide for Individual Learning and work towards the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement.

SETA
Your child may be enrolled in one or more VET certificate courses offered through the Special Education Training Alliance (SETA) that are taught by VET-trained school staff. These courses are overseen and managed by SETA Central RTO, based at Western Suburbs Special School (RTO 41021).
On successful completion of the course, your child will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification. If your child does not complete the full qualification, they will receive a Statement of Attainment outlining the units that have been completed successfully.
